Sporting clays Invitational

SAVE THE DATE: Friday, May 19, 2023 (tentative)

Join the Greater Colorado Council its annual Sporting Clays Invitational held at Charles S. McNeil Scout Ranch at Peaceful Valley.

All proceeds from the Clays event support capital projects at the two Scout camps owned and operated by the Greater Colorado Council: Charles S. McNeil Scout Ranch at Peaceful Valley and Tahosa High Adventure Base.

The Sporting Clays is a premier shooting event. It is open to all levels of shotgun shooters from beginner to advanced. The course is designed to simulate the flight of the game in actual field conditions. Many have compared it to “golfing” but with a shotgun! It’s a perfect way to have a fun day of shooting, fellowship, and the opportunity to network with other business and community leaders.

Shooters compete at the GCC’s exclusive Sporting Clays course at McNeil Scout Ranch at Peaceful Valley. This is one of the few times of the year that the course is available to the public. Shooters are invited to participate in various side games, in a raffle for a chance to win various items from firearms to outdoor gear, and enjoy a delicious catered meal.

Travis Sporting Clays Range at McNeil Scout Ranch at Peaceful Valley is a private range not open to the public. Events like the “Sporting Clays Invitation” is one of the few ways a non-scouting person can experience the facilities.
