The Black Feather District Committee and Commissioner Staff meets the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. The district hosts a district leadership meeting for all district volunteers followed by short breakout sessions for committees and teams to meet and plan upcoming activities and organize service to units seeking additional assistance.
All district committee/commissioner meetings will take place via Zoom for the foreseeable future. All registered commissioners and district members will receive login information for the meetings via email. Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) is a training course for Cub Scout Leaders. One BALOO trained leader is required to be at each Cub Scout overnighter.
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) is a training course for Scouts BSA Leaders. One leader is required to be IOLS trained on each campout. The next two IOLS courses are
Woodbadge, which is advanced adult leader training is highly recommended. While aimed at the Scouting program, this course is a general leadership program similar to what corporations pay thousands of dollars to send their up and coming managers to. You must be position trained in your primary Scouting position to attend. Upcoming Woodbadge courses are listed below.
