Family Troop Option for Scouts BSA
The National Executive Board of Scouting America has approved the implementation of the combined troop option.
Beginning December 15, 2025, the family troop option will be available to all chartering organizations as a third organizational model. Any decision to transition to a family troop must include the chartered organization in the discussion and receive its formal approval.
Troops may continue to operate as separate boy troops and girl troops.
