Camperships
Camperships (Scholarships to Camp)
Scouting Colorado strongly believes that “no youth shall be denied a program experience because of lack of funds.” However, every effort must be made by applicants to “earn their own way.”
Campership Guidelines
- Camperships are only available for the Greater Colorado Council outdoor programs.
- Only registered youth Scout members of the Greater Colorado Council are granted camperships.
- Full camperships are not awarded. Generally, only 25% of event cost will be awarded. (It’s highly recommended that the Scout participates in the Council provided fund raising events to earn their way to camp – Popcorn Sales and Camp Cards sales).
- In order to apply for a Campership, Scouts must have a current reservation for one or more of the programs listed below. Camperships will be credited to that account. Information of the credit in the form of a receipt will be sent to Unit leadership.
- As a requirement to receive a campership, each Scout must include with the request form a formal one page letter that will be given to the donors thanking them for making the Campership Program available.
- In addition, the Scout will bring or send to the Council a note, postcard or picture of them and/or something that they enjoyed doing at camp. Our donors appreciate seeing what our Scouts enjoy at camp.
- Please submit request at least 30 days prior to the event. Camperships will not be given after attending the activity.
- Camperships are not transferable and non-refundable.
You must complete the form & submit a “Thank You” letter to be considered for a Campership. Camperships are available for any Youth attending camp. Please email “Thank You” letters to JoLynne Conrad.
